The Alberta Junior Female Hockey league would like to extend its congratulations to our neighbouring province’s Saskatchewan Hockey Board of Directors for approving the creation of a new junior hockey league for females! Whether you’re a player, coach or volunteer of the AJFHL, you recognize the importance of having access to team sports. Team sports have proven to enrich lives through not only physical health but also mental health. Most importantly, the love of the game can now be shared with every generation of the province of Saskatchewan. How exciting!
Their Under-22 (U22) junior female league will be starting next season, and their task team is currently working on the process so the league can be a part of the inaugural 2023-24 season. Dozens of Saskatchewan communities have come forward with interest, so we imagine this league will thrive and be a success.
The AJFHL wishes everyone involved the best of luck, and we extend our helping hand wherever they may need it. We love seeing organizations that promote a positive and inclusive hockey experience throughout our country. More details on the announcement can be found here: http://bit.ly/3XzYpmd
