As we gear up for the 2023-2024 season, we can't help but feel a rush of excitement. Why, you ask? Well, it's not just another season—it's a milestone year for the Alberta Junior Female Hockey League (AJFHL), as we proudly celebrate our 15th anniversary. Over the past decade and a half, the AJFHL has been a shining beacon of female talent in Alberta, showcasing the incredible abilities of young women aged 17 to 22 on the hockey rink.

On behalf of the league's executive committee, I extend my heartfelt congratulations and gratitude to the remarkable players and dedicated team management who have been part of this incredible journey over the last 14 years. Together, you've demonstrated the sheer magic and camaraderie that hockey can offer to those who pour their hearts into the greatest game on Earth.

Our junior league was born from a simple yet powerful idea—a group of passionate volunteers recognized a gap in girls' hockey beyond the minor leagues. They took this void and transformed it into a 15-year success story that we're immensely proud of. Along the way, we've achieved numerous other milestones, including sustaining both North and South divisions across the province, clinching league and provincial championships, hosting annual all-star games and league tournaments, and recognizing exceptional players with awards and scholarships. These accomplishments have solidified the AJFHL's position as a cornerstone for female players, a place where they can nurture their love for the game and forge lifelong friendships while creating unforgettable memories.

As we stand at the threshold of our 15th season, I extend my best wishes to all the teams. May this year be as exciting and exhilarating as any other. Together, let's continue to nurture the love for hockey, inspiring future generations across the province to lace up their skates and chase their dreams.
